And now the “fun” begins.

July 1, 2013 – After reviewing the MRI results Dr. Shapiro promptly advised me to go see an oncologist. Because of my lack of coverage for oncology he asked Dr. Schwartzberg to give me a discounted rate.

At this point I had had so many Drs appts I was unable to work full time. So any discount I could receive was a blessing.

To say I was devastated by the news I received, would be an understatement.

According to the MRI results the tumor was actually 2.2 cm, not 1.8 cm. That bumped it up to a Stage II. I immediately started to cry. She comforted me by telling me that the type of cancer I have is a “good” type and that I was going to live a long healthy life. That gave me some sense of relief, until…

She proceeded to tell me that because of my “young” age I should treat it as aggressively as possible. Which means I will have to do chemotherapy. Four treatments every three weeks for a total of three months.

The numbness came back over me. Then I walked to my car and just cried hysterically.
